Garage Fire on the Boulevard

Thursday, July 28, 2016 06:32  At approximately 6:32 AM this morning members of the GRFD were alerted to a possible garage fire on the 200 block of the Boulevard. Chief Jennings (830) arrived on scene with moderate smoke coming from the garage and attic area of the house. Members of the Glen Rock Police Department used fire extinguishers to contain the fire. Engine 831 (Capt. Aguilar) arrived on scene and went to work check for extension in the garage. Hawthorne Engine 4 arriving at the same time went to work checking for extension in the house. Ladder 832 (OIC Gallaher) provided ventilation. Engine 831’s crew stretched a 1 ¾” attack line as a precaution but was not need as the fire had not extended from the garage area. Special thanks to the GRPD and Hawthorne FD for their response.
